Itinerary Overview
Itinerary subject to change, your Ride Guide will include full details.
Day 1
Arrival Day
Today, we’ll meet at a beautiful farm overlooking the valley where we’ll gather to meet our fellow participants. Tonight, we’ll get our bikes ready and go over the logistics for the week ahead.
Day 2
Bike 12.5 miles
We’ll begin with a mountain bike clinic to learn techniques from our skilled guides. Then we’ll start our first ride, a scenic pedal through the hills surrounded by granite rocks. We’ll have an amazing view of the Sea of Cortez and Cerralvo Island.
Day 3
Swim, Snorkel, and Explore
Today, we take a boat to Isla Espíritu Santo. We’ll explore by snorkeling near this uninhabited island.
Day 4
Bike 13.7 miles
Today, we’ll bike the Sierra de Cacachilas from South to North reaching 700 meters above sea level, enjoying spectacular views throughout the route. It is designed for intermediate to advanced with a rock garden, stone bridges, and several obstacles to measure your skills. You can always walk your bike if you don’t want to try these out.
Day 5
Hike 5-7 miles
We begin with a simple but steep path to the top of the Sierra de las Cacachilas, our ascent will be between rocks, canyons, and some vestiges of forgotten mines. We’ll see plants and cacti that are characteristic of the dry forest of Baja California. At the top, we can have an incredible view of the bay, east, and west, and to the city of La Paz. Upon our return, we’ll learn to make goat cheese on the farm. In the afternoon, we’ll say goodbye to our new friends!

FAQs and More Info
Arriving & Departing (Important Information)
More information will be available in your ride guide.
For traveling from the US, it is most convenient to arrive at Los Cabo (SJD) airport. It is a 2-hour drive via bus or private car from SJD to the ranch. We will help coordinate participants to share a shuttle. It is $7500 mxn pesos for a shared shuttle.
If you are arriving from Mexico, there are also flights to the airport in La Paz (LAP), you can take a 30-minute taxi ride (approx. $26 USD) or Uber ride. We will have a recommended hotel in La Paz coming soon.
You can also rent a car in La Paz or Los Cabos if you plan to extend your stay.
On the last day, check-out is 2 pm. We can help arrange transportation back to SJD.

U.S. citizens do not need a tourist visa.
Is my U.S. medical insurance valid while traveling outside the U.S.? Should I get travel insurance?
Travel/supplemental medical insurance on international Climate Ride trips is required. Many domestic health insurance companies do not provide coverage outside of the United States, and before leaving for the event, travelers should speak with their healthcare providers to determine if they will be covered. Several private insurance companies offer short-term travel/medical insurance. Check out Allianz Travel Insurance, World Nomads, or other comparable companies.
Remember, travel insurance can only cover expenses you have paid for (flights, additional hotels, etc). It cannot cover your fundraising. Be sure to read the fine print on the travel insurance that you buy.
Can I use my U.S. debit or credit card?
Yes, credit cards and debit cards are accepted. There are ATM machines in larger cities. Once we are at the ranch, you can pay for drink or extras with a credit card but be sure to bring USD for tips. Your ride guide will have more information.
Should I extend my stay?
We think so! There is a lot to explore in Baja. We’ll have suggestions after your register.
